If your ambient room temperature is warm, the fans won't be cooling the computer as well as a moderately cool room. Make sure you don't obstruct the vents around your laptop. Since cooler pads don't block the intake or exhaust, they can't possibly damage the fans. You do want to keep your computer operating system & drivers updated to fix performance, software bugs & security. Fans (bearings) cannot be cleaned, when they start making a growling or excessive whirring noise, its time to replace them. Predator Sense, if it is still installed, will show you the fan speeds. The fans making a whirring sound could be the result of dust in the fan bearings. BTW I don't have warranty because I'm out of the country.Īlso I've noticed that the temps rise quite high (80-90 C) while running games for a short time. This is not affecting the laptop's performance but it is quite annoying and I worry this could be something that might affect the laptop on the long run. is not the sound of the fans themselves but more like an "Rrrrrrr" type of sound like if the fans where hitting a little piece of paper. It's making a "funny" noise close to the fans. I've got an issue with my Acer Predator Helios 300. ![]()
